ANDREW RADCLIFFE
Tech innovator, speaker & thought leaderMy Story
Hi, I’m Andrew.
I’ve spent my career at the intersection of technology, leadership and change, building systems that solve real problems and helping teams turn complex ideas into practical, lasting solutions.
Over the past 30 years, I’ve worked across public services, telecoms, aerospace, legal, and corporate real estate, leading projects in the UK, USA, Sweden, Poland, and Austria. I’ve learned that technology success isn’t just about code or architecture; it’s about people, culture, and the ability to bridge ambition with delivery.
Before co-founding Spyrosoft, I served as a Digital Advisor to the UK Government and Head of Development at Ordnance Survey, Great Britain’s National Mapping Agency. Those experiences taught me how clarity in leadership and purposeful technology can quietly transform how organisations work.
Now, I’m focused on connecting with other CTOs and senior technology leaders, people who understand the weight and opportunity of digital transformation. My aim is to build a space where we can share experiences openly, learn from each other, and offer genuine support, grounded in trust, not competition.
My Values & Beliefs
Be a good person, honest and transparent
You need good people
“I’ve learned that it’s all about people. Our skills and knowledge builds technology solutions, but you can’t do any of that without the people. Technology comes high on the list, but without the people you don’t have anything.”
Flexible and creative
“You need to be creative, and able to pivot and change your approach. You need to quickly create something off a blank piece of paper. All these traits are needed to innovate and fit me quite well.”
Personal network
My Approach
“It’s about building strong teams, giving the vision, telling people what we need to do, but empowering them to do it. I really believe if you give somebody a task that they’re good at doing, you’re going to get a good outcome. So communicate that aspiration, tell them what you’re expecting, then let them be free to go and do it and monitor, interact and trust them as they’re doing that work. That empowerment piece shouldn’t be underestimated and keeps people motivated.
Don’t underestimate the value of your personal network, too. I think that has really been key for me at Spyrosoft and how we’ve got to where we are today. As a leader in any business, you have a duty to be a part of the community that you’re serving, so be present in the industries in which you’re operating. For me, that means I speak at different events around the different industries where we operate. Geospatial is a particular strength of mine and I guess I’m recognised in that way.”
